Professional Education

I love learning and expanding my knowledge.

As I get deep into leadership, I love exploring areas that make me a stronger and well-rounded leader so I can better serve my teams and my community.

Stuff I usually explore:

  • areas relevant to my field (build my expertise)

  • areas I need more knowledge on (fill in the gaps)

  • areas I am just simply curious about (expand my mind)

My learning is not limited to ones where I get official certifications. Outside of these, I explore a lot more other areas.

Patent

US Patent 7490032: Framework for hardware co-simulation by on-demand invocation from a block model diagram design environment (30 Dec 2004)

In a nutshell: This approach allows you to surgically invoke a function/method dowloaded on a hardware device (e.g. DSP chip). It’s like controlling a hardware in an appliance.

Funny story…

Colleague: Mary Ann, I want you to figure out how to do <this & that>

Me: But that is not possible!

Colleague: Exactly. And you’re going to do it.

(the rest was history)
