Education & Accomplishments
Education
-
Instrumentation & Signal Processing Concentration
Thesis: Use of minimum negativity constraint in reconstruction of noisy signals.
-
I was shy of 3 units from getting an official degree. However, I took so many non-core courses such as VLSI design, Neural Networks, Robotics, Audio Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, to name a few.
Thesis: Use of Hidden Markov Model (HMM) in recognizing Tagalog-spoken words
Note: HMM is an approach used in both Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Professional Education
I love learning and expanding my knowledge.
As I get deep into leadership, I love exploring areas that make me a stronger and well-rounded leader so I can better serve my teams and my community.
Stuff I usually explore:
areas relevant to my field
areas I am just simply curious about
areas I need more knowledge on
My learning is not limited to ones where I get official certifications. Outside of these, I explore a lot more other areas.
-
What I learned:
Transforming a corporation’s operations, management, and mindset to leverage Data, AI, Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing.
-
What I learned:
Developing and implementing actionable plans and strategies that will have a lasting impact on organizations and communities.
Taught by Prof Eric Rosenbach
-
What I learned:
Data to insights, Data analytics, Prescriptive/Predictive/Descriptive analytics, Forecasting, Optimization, Simulation, Data visualization & interpretation, Regression analysis, Correlation & causation, Customer analytics, Performance analytics
-
What I learned:
Becoming a better problem solver and improving the performance of projects through system thinking.
-
What I am learning:
Intersection of strategy, finance, and accounting.
Evaluating a business’s performance, prospects, and value to make strategic investment decisions that generate financial success.

Patent
US Patent 7490032: Framework for hardware co-simulation by on-demand invocation from a block model diagram design environment (30 Dec 2004)
In a nutshell: This approach allows you to surgically invoke a function/method dowloaded on a hardware device (e.g. DSP chip). It’s like controlling a hardware in an appliance.
