Volunteer Works

  • Aug 2024 - Present

Selected based on professional background and demonstrated thought leadership.

I contribute insights to HBR’s editorial research process by engaging in regular surveys and feedback cycles on leadership, innovation, and organizational trends. It’s one way I stay at the forefront of executive thinking — and help shape the questions that leading minds are exploring.

  • Tutoria is a free, online platform that connects people in need with volunteer tutors, focusing on English language learning, US citizenship preparation, and legal aid. It aims to bridge the gap between individuals seeking help and volunteers eager to offer their expertise, addressing the challenges of finding and scheduling tutors.

  • Massachusetts Science + Engineering Fair

Every year, MA sponsors science fairs in middle school and high school that showcases the best young minds and their innovations.

As a judge, I review and analyze science projects and the students’ process for proving their hypotheses.

In this exercise, I get to see what young minds can achieve and I always walk away inspired and hopeful.

I also learn how to objectively & unbiasly evaluate projects based on multiple criteria which is something I apply to situations outside of this event.

  • Pahinungod Program, University of the Philippines

    Jan 1996 - Jan 1998

I went to remote places in the Philippines and taught high school students math, physics, and other areas that will give them a good chance of being admitted to colleges and universities. Most of these kids have settled on the idea that their education stops after high school. Part of the work involved inspiring and motivating these kids that they deserve to go to college and have a good chance of getting admitted to top colleges and universities in the country (and some of them did!).
